“Why certain communities don’t vote and what is being done in Bristol County”- Taunton Daily Gazette

by csjadmin | Jun 1, 2021 | Civic Engagement, News | 0 comments

“Coalition for Social Justice (CSJ), a Bristol County-based non-profit organization that works to empower marginalized populations, is determined to turn things around for voter turnout in municipal elections this summer.

In particular, the organization is working to get out the vote for working class people, people of color, and young people, who historically are less likely to vote than middle and upper class whites.

Dax Crocker, program coordinator for CSJ, said one reason these populations are less likely to vote in municipal elections is because there is a misconception that such elections do not have much of an impact on their lives.”
