Corporate Fair Share

Our attempt to raise the tax on big corporations hiding their profits in overseas tax havens is ongoing. As part of the campaign, Raise Up Massachusetts held town halls all over the state. Eighty people showed up at the New Bedford /Fall River one, while a smaller event was held in Hyannis. In both events, a total of 12 legislators showed up to hear people’s testimonies about how they were already suffering from a lack of income and fears about upcoming cuts to essential programs (which we are already seeing now) and the need for more revenue from the state to cover those programs, including passing Corporate Fair Share and using the Rainy Day Fund.
