Fair Share Taxation
CSJ is working toward the Fair Share Amendment, which would place a 4% tax on every dollar over one million that an individual makes in one year. The funds gathered from this tax on the extremely wealthy would help to fund improvements in education and transportation. We have been working with Raise Up Massachusetts to bring the amendment into practice.

Income growth for the extremely wealthy in Massachusetts has expanded much more rapidly than for any other income bracket in the state. The graph from MassBudget makes that clear. The Fair Share Amendment seeks to balance that income expansion by investing in the public services that serve those who need it most.
