On May 1st – May Day and World Asthma Day we called for a world in which all of us can breathe deeply and live freely – that means, the right to clean air and water, health and safety, and dismantling systems that block those rights for people of color and low-income people across the world.
As part of the statewide day of action the Coalition for Social Justice organized a walk and rally at the New Bedford Harbor Walk. Speakers at the event spoke on how the local environmental situation and climate change has impacted their lives and their health. On this day, groups across the state joined together rallying around the intersection between environmental justice, worker’s rights, racism, and other inequalities.
